About the Chautla & Val’Quirico Tour

Chautla derives from Nahuatl and means “place where water springs.” Ex Hacienda de Chautla is about one hour from Puebla. Today it’s a state park that preserves the historic architecture of a Colonial-era estate. We’ll visit the springs area and the imposing 19th-century Gillow Castle.

We’ll then head to Val’Quirico, on the border with the state of Tlaxcala. Val’Quirico references the Valley of Quirico, a small Italian locality that inspired this gastronomic and leisure complex.

Enjoy free time for lunch—there’s a variety of international restaurants: Mexican, Spanish, French, German, and more. We’ll return to the starting point at the end.
